Feel the Fever for the Holidays

Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort is the hot spot for a special holiday show tribute to Frank Sinatra on Saturday night. A Very Sinatra Christmas Special features a number of jazz vocalists singing a catalog of holiday tunes favored over the years by the legend also known as The Chairman of the Board, including “White Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Let It Snow” among others. Although the resort has the beautiful outdoor rotunda that could easily accommodate the concert, and the performance is under the aegis of Concerts Under the Stars, A Very Sinatra Christmas Special takes place indoors. The 90-minute set starts at 7 pm. Visit https://feverup.com/m/502259/

For more of a twisted Yuletide experience, The Narrative Loft is hosting “A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience,” a 90-minute immersive stage performance of Dickens’ ghostly masterpiece made doubly fun with designated drinks to dive into. The reimagining of Dickens’ Christmas classic comes complete with a dark Victorian twist and four holiday-themed cocktails paired with key scenes in the story. The quartet of expertly crafted cocktails are tailored to each of the spirits of the night to enhance the experience of the iconic ghost story that follows Ebenezer Scrooge on his spirited encounters. Condensed for maximum impact, the story and special drinks should beat the “Bah, Humbug!” out of anyone not feeling the festive mood. Fever is also the place to find the next Candlelight concert show, a Holiday Special featuring the Vapour String Quartet performing selections from The Nutcracker and works by Debussy and Émile Waldteufel as well as such seasonal songs as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Deck the Halls,” “O Holy Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “Ma’oz Tzur.” The multi-sensory musical experience features the musicians performing live on a stage bedecked with scores of candles at Music Academy of the West’s Hahn Hall on December 18.
