You’re Invited to Celebrate 30 Years of Village 4th Tradition

By Houghton Hyatt   |   June 30, 2026

The Montecito Association and Montecito Community Foundation invite residents and visitors to join the community for the 30th Annual Montecito Village 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, a hometown tradition that has brought neighbors together since 1996.

Known as the home of the “World’s Shortest Parade,” the Village 4th is a uniquely Montecito celebration featuring patriotic spirit, community pride, live music, family activities, and old-fashioned fun for all ages.

This year’s event is especially meaningful as the Montecito Association celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Village 4th while also honoring America’s 250th birthday with the theme “Let’s Party Like It’s 1776!”

The festivities begin at 11:30 am with the beloved parade from East Valley Road, down San Ysidro Road to Lower Manning Park. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots along the parade route and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Following the parade, the celebration continues in Lower Manning Park with a community picnic, featuring Big Truck Foods, Oak & Fire BBQ, and Rori’s Ice Cream, live music by Outta the Blue, a beer and wine garden, and family-friendly activities.

From decorated bikes and wagons to vintage cars, community groups, local organizations, and generations of families marching together, the event continues to embody the spirit of a small-town Fourth of July celebration.
