Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation Annual Gala Preview
The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation Annual Golden Gala is scheduled for September 27, at the Tuscan Hills Estate, the home of longtime TBCF supporters Michael and Sylvia Schulte Molony.
Honorees at the Gala included the Rodriguez family, recipients of the Pay It Forward Award; Jeff and Margo Barbakow, recipients of the Heart of Gold Award; and Dr. Jordan Witt, who was presented the Humanitarian Award.
The Gala co-chairs are Adriana Mezic and Angel Speier, and the Gala Committee members are Nicole Allen, Taylor Fuller, Jamie Hansen, Kachina Heil, Sheela Hunt, Kerry Kelly, Terre Lapman, Gary Lapman, Giana Miller, Debbie Neer, Stacey Polo, Nora Scheinberg, Lisa Solana, Lacy Taylor, Jill t’Sas, Brigitte Welty, and gala intern Em Morales.
In an email interview with the co-chairs on what is new this year at the gala, Mezic replied, “This year’s TBCF Gala marks a deeper level of urgency and compassion, as more families than ever have turned to us – not only for direct financial assistance, but for emotional and educational support. These are families already facing unimaginable hardship, and now many are also navigating the added fear and uncertainty brought on by the current immigration climate. Their resilience inspires us, and our commitment to stand beside them has never been stronger.” Adding to Mezic, Julia George, Sr. development director, wrote, “This year’s Golden Gala is more than a celebration, it’s a lifeline. The funds we raise ensure that local families facing childhood cancer receive the emotional, financial, and education support they urgently need.”
The Golden Gala Presenting Sponsor is Earl Minnis, and emcee is Andrew Firestone.
Live Auction and Raffle items include vacays in Los Cabos, Fiji, Cape Cod, Canary Hotel Santa Barbara, and the Sunstone Villa.
