Structure Fire on Picacho Lane

Montecito Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Picacho Lane shortly after 2:30 pm on Monday, October 19. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames concentrated in the home’s chimney and fireplace. Although crews quickly knocked down the initial fire, flames had spread into the walls and second-story attic, prompting a second-alarm response.

One person was home when the fire broke out and called 911. No injuries were reported. Firefighters from Santa Barbara City and Carpinteria-Summerland assisted Montecito crews, while law enforcement managed traffic and scene safety. The cause remains under investigation.

Bogavante Restaurant Update

A new Mexican seafood restaurant at 50 Los Patos Way, Montecito, is still in the process of renovating the old Stella Mare’s Bistro, and looking for investors to fund the completion. According to the Alejandro Marin, Muy Salsa Hospitality Group Founder, “…permits have been obtained for a liquor license and site approved by SB City Planning.
