Injured Female / 385 San Ysidro Road, Montecito — Sunday, May 17, at 06:24 hours
A passerby reported a female sitting on the steps of Montecito Union School who looked like she had been the victim of some type of violence. Deputies contacted the subject, and it initially looked like she was the victim of a sexual assault as she had bruising on different parts of her body, was in an altered state (with no recollection of where she was or how she got there), and was only wearing a shirt. Victim was transported to Cottage Hospital by AMR and Deputies had STESA respond to the hospital. Through a lengthy investigation, it was determined that there was not a sexual assault. Subject was the passenger in a traffic collision that occurred at about 03:45 hours, on the northbound 101 between Olive Mill and Hermosillo. The driver of the vehicle was eventually arrested for DUI by CHP. Subject fled the vehicle after the crash and walked to the location where deputies found her.
