Bar Lou, the French-Mediterranean restaurant on Coast Village Road, is set to close. Opened by restaurateur Warner Ebbink and Chef Brandon Boudet, the restaurant replaced Oliver’s and featured a redesigned dining room and a menu built around shareable dishes and local ingredients. Popular items included the Steak au Poivre, Halibut Almondine, and Sea Urchin Spaghetti. Boudet and Ebbink were regularly on site, aiming to make Bar Lou a comfortable neighborhood spot. As the team prepares to shut down operations, the closure marks the end of a short but well-regarded addition to Montecito’s dining landscape.

In a social media post this week, the staff shared:

“With full hearts, we share that Bar Lou will be closing its doors.

What began as a passion became something far greater because of the people who walked through our doors – our guests, our neighbors, our friends. Thank you for choosing us for celebrations, quiet dinners, first dates, and everything in between.

Every meal shared, every conversation, every familiar face meant more to us than we can put into words. We are deeply grateful to everyone who crossed paths with us and made this place feel like home.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Our final service will be Friday, December 19th, 2025.

With love and gratitude, The Bar Lou Team”
