Sansum Clinic and Sutter Health to Celebrate Partnership with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

By Montecito Journal   |   September 29, 2023

A special event will be held today, Friday, September 29,  to welcome Sansum Clinic into the Sutter Health Integrated Health System. A ribbon cutting will celebrate the partnership, which takes effect October 2, with the CEOs, key executives, and staff touring the renovated spaces of the Foothill Surgery Center, including the locations where three new operating rooms will be added to the building.

Other planned changes include the introduction of more advanced imaging services and an imaging center focused on women’s health, as well as expanding access to primary and specialty care in neighboring communities.

The planned improvements are just the beginning of facility and service upgrades with the combined management teams coming together to identify other capital projects in the coming months and years to improve Sansum’s local services.

“Sutter Health and Sansum Clinic are a natural fit because our organizations are driven to improve access and quality, provide a seamless, connected patient experience, and offer our dedicated employees and physicians an exceptional environment in which to do their best work and practice medicine,” said Warner L. Thomas, Sutter Health president and CEO. “We share a true commitment to not-for-profit healthcare and meeting diverse community needs. Through strategic investment in the months and years to come and in close partnership with our aligned medical groups, we’ll continue to deliver on that promise as an integrated system.”

The two organizations have a century-long history and have identified the like-minded commitments to top quality services and dedication to serving their local community’s needs.

With the impact of the pandemic on health care institutions, as well as an aging Medicare population, and other market effects shifting health care needs, this partnership will help Sansum stay ahead of the changing healthcare landscape.

“This partnership provides a great opportunity for growth and long-term stability for Sansum Clinic,” said Kurt N. Ransohoff, M.D., Sansum Clinic CEO and chief medical officer. “It will increase access for our patients to multispecialty, high-quality care, advance our integrated care model and provide a more connected, seamless experience for patients.”

The Montecito Journal will more coverage of this emerging news in the upcoming issue.
