It was indeed a magical day for our 2nd Annual Montecito Holiday Car Parade, and the weather was most excellent after weeks of rain.

Kids from 1 to 92 lined the streets of the parade route, cheering on the brightly-lit decorated cars and some with pets including Shetland ponies, holiday music, and more!

Leading the way was Sheriff’s Dept Lt. Butch Arnoldi followed by Dana Newquist with his wife Andrea and team, Jim Crook driving Kristen Sneddon, Sharon Byrne, Megan Orloff, Andrea and Ron Hein, Andrew Velikanje, Nina Terzian, Hayley Carty, Cynthia Roche, Thomas Craveiro, Kelly Hatchett, Sharon and Ron Montanaro, Russell Steiner, Orwin and Alma Middleton, Jonathan O’Toole, Abe Powell and his Bucket Brigade team, Jeffrey Clarke, Nick Turner, Woody Barrett, John Weigold, Dorrine Lee Johnson, Ruth Green, Gary Kuist, and our Montecito Fire Department crew pulled up the rear. Keeping everyone safe were the Sheriff’s Department and CHP officers at key checkpoints on the route. There were 26 vehicles in the parade, with some favorites: a vintage fire engine, Mercedes, Shelby Cobra, VW bus, ’67 Camaro, and Adam McKaig’s Angels in their huge black school bus. Businesses represented were Hands Across Montecito, Friends of the Montecito Library, Cold Spring School, Hillcrest Security, 569 Montecito Customs, Montecito Water District, Montecito Sanitation District, Montecito Community Foundation, and, of course, Montecito Fire Department.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the parade, and wishing our town a happy holiday and New Year!
