Warrior baseball opens the NAIA World Series on May 27

For the first time, Westmont baseball is headed to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. Though the Warriors have made seven trips to the NAIA National Tournament in the last eight years in which the tournament was held, they have never won the opening round tournament.

Westmont is the No. 6 seed in the 10-team, double-elimination tournament, and will play against the host and No. 3 seed Lewis-Clark State College on Friday, May 27, at 7 pm.

Westmont (45-11) and Lewis-Clark State (53-5) met on opening day this year with Lewis-Clark State winning 5-3, despite Westmont freshman Bryan Peck throwing a one-hitter through five innings.

Westmont earned its berth to the World Series by winning the Santa Barbara Opening Round Bracket with a 12-0 victory over Antelope Valley on May 18.
