After Queen Elizabeth‘s granddaughter Princess Beatrice dining at Lucky’s with her boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, it was the turn of former President Barack Obama‘s daughter, Malia, and her beau Rory Farquharson, to check out the area.

The twosome, who both attend Harvard and have been dating for three years, were spotted at the Ojai Valley Inn brunching with his parents, Charles and Catherine.

“They didn’t seem to have any security, and were having a quiet casual time, with them wearing shorts and jeans,” says my mole with the martini.

Steve Sells

Just one month after listing his Beverly Hills guest house for $2.22 million, Montecito comedian Steve Martin has sold the 1957 property he bought in 1997 for $950,000.

After just three weeks on the market the two story, 2,000 sq.ft. contemporary home with four bedrooms, four and half baths, sold for $71,000 over the asking price.

Celebs Land in Sicily

Santa Barbara songbird Katy Perry and her English actor fiancé Orlando Bloom joined a host of other celebrities, including Prince Harry, in Sicily for a Google Camp to discuss climate change at the oh-so exclusive Verdura Resort, near Sciacca.

Palermo Airport was gridlocked with 114 private jets before a party at the 2,500-year-old ruins of the Temple of Hera and a concert by the rock group Coldplay.

The $20 million three-day event also attracted media mogul Barry Diller, fashion designers Diane von Furstenberg and Stella McCartney, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper, singers Bono and Harry Styles, and CBS morning news anchor Gayle King.

Before landing in Sicily, the former Dos Pueblos High student and the Pirates of the Caribbean star had been cruising on movie tycoon David Geffen‘s 453ft. yacht, Rising Sun, around the Spanish coast.

For Sale

Aussie warbler Olivia Newton-John has put her antipodean retreat near oh-so trendy Byron Bay on the market for $5.5 million after nearly 40 years.

Four-time Grammy winner Olivia, 70, fighting breast cancer for the third time, is also selling her 12-acre Santa Ynez home for $7.7 million.

She bought the 187-acre, three-bedroom property in 1981 for just $622,000. It also has a four-bedroom guest suite.

Aging Gracefully

Montecito actress Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken candidly about how the aging process makes her feel like she’s losing her identity.

The Goop guru confesses on her The Beauty Closet podcast that she felt typecast during her young acting career, which led to her feeling she’d lost her identity as she grew older.

“I’ve been considered, not by everyone,” says the 46-year-old Oscar winner. “It’s a weird thing to be. I don’t mean it in a pejorative way objectified, but sort of cast as something put in a box.

“…To get wrinkles and get closer to menopause, and all these things… What happens to your identity as a woman if you’re not f—able and beautiful?”

Gwynnie says learning to love yourself as you get older and embracing the process, is key for inner beauty.

Back to the Studio

Santa Barbara TV reality show star Heidi Montag wants to relaunch her music career.

The 32-year-old wife of Spencer Pratt previously embarked on a singing career a decade ago when she released two EPs in 2009 and a full album Superficial in 2010.

But after releasing her last EP in 2012, Montag now says she wants to create music with a more “Christian vibe.”

“I want to do something good and send out a positive message to the world,” she said on an episode of her newly relaunched MTV series The Hills: New Beginnings.

“I want to put out a great, faith-based, positive song.”

Amen to that…
