Former Londoner Janet Napier is bowling them over!

Janet has just been installed as president of the 81-year-old Santa Barbara Lawn Bowls Club on De La Vina Street.

A San Francisco State University graduate, Janet was president of the city’s Rotary Club and volunteers for the Red Cross and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Janet, who is married to family therapist Connard Hogan, retired in 2005 and took up lawn bowling as a pastime.

Montecito’s newest celebrity resident Natalie Portman has been recounting her own traumatic chapter of sexual harassment that started when she was only 13.

After starring in her first film, Natalie, 36, says she experienced “sexual terrorism” from fans and media that impacted the way she went about the rest of her Oscar-winning career.

She explained to crowds of thousands of women at the Los Angeles Women’s March she turned 12 on the set of the French film Leon: The Professional, in which she made friends with a hit man in hopes of avenging her parents’ murders.

“Movie reviewers talked about my budding breasts in reviews,” she recounted. “I understood very quickly, even as a 13-year-old, that if I were to express myself sexually I would feel unsafe and that men would feel entitled to discuss and objectify my body to my great discomfort.”

The Harvard graduate said that from that point on, she adjusted her personal and professional behavior to avoid this – even going so far as to reject roles with kissing scenes.

In interviews, she emphasized her “bookish and serious side, and eventually built a reputation as a prudish, conservative, nerdy, and serious.”

Devil in the Details

Prince Charles, 69, is bracing himself for an explosive unauthorized biography blowing the lid on his royal household as “rife with intrigue and misconduct.”

British investigative journalist Tom Bower, 71, claims it will include testimony from more than 120 employees who “worked in the inner sanctum” of Clarence House, HRH’s London home, a tiara’s toss down the Mall from Buckingham Palace.

The titillating tome, which is said to be quite revelatory, addresses the heir to the British throne’s “politics and attitudes toward his family” and delves into how he tried to rehabilitate his image following Princess Diana’s untimely death in 1997.

“There are a lot of revelations,” promises Bower. “I was amazed how much new material there was. I got a lot of very new untold information.”

Stay tuned.
