Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 14, when many retailers will welcome shoppers to a special shopping event on Coast Village Road, organized by the Coast Village Association. Shops will be offering special discounts and gifts, refreshments, entertainment, and even a photo opportunity with Santa! The event, called Shop Coast Village, is from 4 to 7 pm, and we’ll have much more details in next week’s edition.

Retailers who have not yet signed up to participate may email coastvillagesb@gmail.com for details.

MFPD Accepting Donations

The 6th annual Season of Hope food and toy drive is underway. Local TV station KSBY has teamed up once again with local non-profit organizations, fire departments, and several businesses for the community-wide event. The Montecito Fire Protection District is now accepting donations of non-perishable foods and new, unwrapped toys at either of the two Montecito fire stations.

The Unity Shoppe’s “Central Distribution Facility” serves the low-income clients of 300 non-profit organizations, social service agencies, churches, schools, and hospitals. More than 22,000 people are referred for furniture, food, clothing, school supplies, and basic necessities. Items needed include canned fruit and vegetables, canned tuna, pasta, dried rice, dried beans, and peanut butter.

The Season of Hope continues through Friday, December 15. For more information, please contact Joyce Reed at (805) 969-2537.
