“All you need is love,” sang The Beatles – and there was plenty to go around at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theatre, where an all-star cast turned back the clock to the swinging sixties for An Orchestrated Tribute to The Beatles, benefiting Adam’s Angels, Santa Barbara Humane, and the Get Together Foundation.

The psychedelic extravaganza was spearheaded by Executive Producers Adam McKaig and Kevin Wachs, with Earl Minnis as presenting sponsor. Minnis, a supporter of the Get Together Foundation, spoke warmly about joining forces with McKaig and others sharing his commitment to helping people in need.

Adding hometown star power, Katy Perry donated a signed guitar to the silent auction. Although the pop superstar was traveling, her father, Keith Hudson, personally presented it onstage, sharing her enthusiasm for the cause.

Psychedelic rock legends Strawberry Alarm Clock joined Ron Dante (The Archies), Dennis Tufano (The Buckinghams), and The Tribe, with Santa Barbara’s Folk Orchestra bringing orchestral magic to Beatles classics.

Backstage, Musical Director Phil Lo Presti explained the camaraderie among performers, many dressed in colorful 1960s garb.

“We’re having fun up here because we want you to have fun,” he smiled. “It brings us closer together every time we do it.”

Co-hosts Chris Carter and Catherine Remak kept the festivities rolling, while generous supporters included Julianna and Tom Dain, Jim Crook and Steve Hartmann of Milpas Motors, alongside Douglas Elliman, CalPrivate Bank, Occhiali, and Brander.

Founded by McKaig and Melissa Borders, Adam’s Angels delivers clothing, food, toiletries, and essentials to neighbors experiencing hardship, while fellow beneficiaries support families and their furry companions.

From psychedelic rock to everyday kindness, this magical mystery tour had a meaningful destination.

After all, love is all you need – but a little help from your friends makes all the difference.
