Every dog has its day, and this one promises plenty of tail-wagging fun. Tails of Hope is back for its second year on Sunday, September 20, after last year’s sold-out debut proved that Santa Barbara County has a soft spot for four-legged friends. The fundraiser takes over Rancho La Patera Stow House in Goleta for an afternoon dedicated to helping the thousands of animals cared for by Santa Barbara County Animal Services each year.

Guests can sniff out wine from La Lieff Winery, craft beer from Draughtsmen Ale, bites from Solera & Co., rescue partner booths, a silent auction, music, bubbles courtesy of The Bubble Guy, and even tarot readings. The festivities culminate with a live program emceed by an all-star trio of John Corbett, Bo Derek, and Animal Planet’s Shorty Rossi.

Behind all the fetching fun is a serious mission. Proceeds help fund veterinary care, shelter supplies, medical equipment, and other essentials for Santa Barbara County Animal Services, which shelters over 6,000 animals annually while providing safety net programs that help keep pets and their people together. This is one paw-ty where every ticket helps give local animals a brighter future.
