Best in Show is Back!

Dogs don’t spend much time worrying about trophies. They’re generally content with a tennis ball, a shady patch of grass, and convincing strangers they haven’t eaten in days. Yet once a year, Rosewood Miramar transforms into a canine version of Westminster, where every wag carries a little extra swagger and every good dog seems convinced they’re a strong contender.

That annual spectacle returns Thursday, August 13, when the resort’s Best in Show once again turns the Great Lawn into Montecito’s happiest gathering of four-legged personalities. Equal parts dog show, garden party, and neighborhood reunion, it’s an afternoon where polished purebreds mingle with lovable mutts, tiny scene-stealers share the spotlight with gentle giants, and every contestant arrives convinced they have this thing in the bag.

The competition celebrates dogs of every shape, size, and disposition, with awards recognizing everything from Best in Show to standout tricks, style, and spirit. Around the ring, spectators can expect specialty bites and drinks for humans and hounds alike, VIP seating overlooking the action, and plenty of tail-wagging entertainment between judging rounds. Best of all, proceeds from the event benefit local animal welfare organizations, making it one of those rare competitions where everyone really does go home a winner.
