Strike a Paw-se: Your Pet Could Be Calendar Famous

Calling all photogenic pups, camera-ready cats, and even those feathered, scaled, or slightly mischievous companions who know how to work a lens. The Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation has officially unleashed its 2027 All-Stars Pet Calendar Photo Contest, and it’s time for your furry friend to have their moment in the spotlight.

For just $5, pet parents can enter their favorite photo and start rallying votes from friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else willing to throw a bone their way. Every dollar donated equals one vote, with proceeds supporting life-saving programs for shelter animals throughout Santa Barbara County.

The top vote-getter will land the coveted cover spot, while other winners will be featured as Pets of the Month after professional photo sessions with C. Eaton Photography. Think of it as your pet’s chance to go from neighborhood celebrity to full-fledged cover model.

Voting runs through July 1, so don’t paws too long. Whether your dog is a natural ham, your cat is secretly an influencer, or your rabbit simply has star quality, now’s the time to let them shine. After all, every good dog deserves its day — and maybe even its own calendar month.
