Montecito Fire School Visits

For Fire Prevention Month, the Montecito Fire Department made the rounds to the Montecito schools to educate the students and teachers on fire safety. The firefighters provided hands-on learning for the students, including how to use the fire hose, types of rescue gear, demos with the fire engine truck, and letting the students try on the official firefighter protective jackets, hats, and gear. The students had a great learning experience, as is evident in the photographs!

Schools participating in the fire safety training this past week were Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Crane Country Day School.

Crane Country Day School shared the event on their social media saying, “Safety first with our local heroes! In honor of Fire Prevention Month, our third graders received a special visit from the Montecito Fire Department! The firefighters parked right outside the classroom and met with students on the lawn for an interactive 30-minute session on fire safety, emergency preparedness, and community care. Students got a front-row look at the fire engine, learned about essential safety protocols, and asked thoughtful questions about what it takes to protect our neighborhood. Hands-on visits like these help turn vital safety lessons into memorable, real-world experiences!”

And Our Lady of Mount Carmel added on their socials, “A big thank-you to Montecito Fire for taking the time to educate and inspire our students! We’re grateful for the heroes who help us stay safe every day.”
