Coast Village Cruising

Saturday went to the dogs; Sunday belonged to the cars.
Coast Village Road turned an ordinary September weekend into a two-day neighborhood promenade during Coast Village Week, pairing four-legged charm with four-wheeled glamour.
Saturday’s Dog Days Photo Booth brought families, children and camera-ready canines to the village. Dogs posed with nautical props, oversized sunglasses and inflatable flamingos for a chance at the Montecito Journal’s “Top Dog” prize, while Rosewood Miramar treated visitors to complimentary ice cream. Bougie BARKery SB added dog treats and plenty of curbside charm.
Sunday shifted gears, when vintage and exotic automobiles lined Coast Village Road. Collectors brought everything from tiny European classics to serious supercars, including a BMW Isetta 300, brightly colored Fiats, a sleek McLaren and a Ferrari Lusso.

The contrast was half the fun: one day, owners coaxed dogs toward the camera; the next, visitors peered under hoods, compared chrome, and traded car stories.
Throughout Coast Village Week, boutiques, restaurants, galleries, wellness businesses and jewelers also joined in with promotions, specials, exclusive merchandise and happy hours.
For locals, it felt less like a formal festival than a very Montecito block party – with one lingering question: which was more irresistible, the bubble car classics or the camera-ready canines?
Sightings
Robert Zemeckis is working on an upcoming Crosby, Stills & Nash documentary expected in spring 2027.
