On Tuesday, June 2, Montecito Fire’s Firefighter/Paramedic Jared Gamm received the 2026 Rotary Club of Montecito Public Service Award. Nominated by his peers, Gamm was recognized for his exceptional work ethic, personal integrity, and exemplary service to our community. Jared’s wife, Shannon, and his children were able to join for this meaningful moment. MFD thanks the Rotary Club of Montecito for honoring Jared’s service and making a positive impact on our community.

Montecito Fire’s Property Hazard Abatement Inspections started on June 1. They request all property owners ensure their property meets all the requirements for defensible space, roadside clearance, and gate access. If your property is found to be out of compliance, you will receive a violation notice in the mail with a date for a follow-up inspection.

South Coast Community Meeting on Wildfire Prevention & Preparedness will be on June 15 at Santa Barbara City College’s BC Forum from 6-7:30 pm, MFD’s partners from neighboring fire agencies, Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, and local community organizations will participate in a South Coast Wildfire Community Meeting. Residents from Goleta to Carpinteria are invited to attend to learn how to prepare for wildfire and how your public safety agencies collaborate before, during, and after emergencies.
