Spring Soirée

Summertime… the season of sun. Okay, yes, the sun has been a little shy as of late, but I swear it’s up there. While the Earth’s own axis may be at maximum tilt on the solstice, it is also the moment where the local community gets a little tilted. Accountants become butterflies. Teachers become sea creatures. Retirees become celestial beings draped in sequins and feathers. Giant puppets roam the streets.

Yes, the Summer Solstice parade is almost here and recently a group of artists, philanthropists, performers, and community supporters gathered on a golden Montecito afternoon to get a head start on the fun. The crowd sipped on drinks, raised their paddle for art, and reveled in fire dancing as the Spring Soirée ushered in the upcoming season. Here comes the sun…
