Home for the Holidays: Week 3

Week Three of our four-part Gift Guide is here!
The weather outside is frightful, if you find sunshine undelightful. “Is that a real word?” Uh, no. But let it go, let it go, let it go. Friends, we are well into December, the year’s capstone month during which we celebrate Peace with a sort of benevolent frenzy. We wish to lavishly thank those who have loved and emotionally nourished us throughout the year.
To our generalized dismay this often results in pushbutton gift-giving that replaces truly unique and thoughtful gestures with algorithmic convenience. Hey, we get it. Why mosey joyously around your ridiculously cozy, gorgeously forested, lamplit home village when you can hunch sweatily over a computer and have a byte-tower in Ohio do your precious heart work? Look around this place. G’head!
Our town (apologies to Thornton Wilder) is an alarmingly picturesque, globally envied concentration of artists and creatives and right brain lovebirds whose works are singular and unique in the world. Yes, we have brilliant suggestions on where to relaxedly seek your perfect cadeaux in this marvel of a town.
Bottom line? Give with meaning. And that stuff about throwing chestnuts on an open fire? Four words: safety goggles and helmet. Few things will dampen your Noël like stinging, ballistic chestnuts. Consider this a PSA.
