Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club opened its 114th season on Sunday, kicking off an action-packed schedule with exciting tournaments and events that will showcase some of the world’s most talented equestrians.

With a record number of teams and players participating, including a Number Ten rider – the top accolade in the sport – this season will be one of the most memorable in the club’s history.

Although nothing is currently scheduled, Prince Harry may well be galloping on the hallowed Holden Field as he was three years ago in the team with his good friend Ralph Lauren Polo model Nacho Figueras.

“Santa Barbara is a coveted locale where players from around the globe come to play top tier competition, and you can’t beat the beauty and the venue,” says manager David Sigman.

And for the 18th year I have been asked to judge the mélange of magnificent millinery for the annual Hat Contest in July with a torrent of tony tête toppers in the stands to choose from.
