The documentary And She Could Be Next, directed by Grace Lee (left) and Marjan Safinia chronicles the movement of women of color transforming politics from the ground up

Grace Lee and Marjan Safinia join moderator Wendy Eley Jackson for a Zoom discussion of And She Could Be Next, their new groundbreaking two-part documentary series chronicling the defiant movement of women of color who are transforming politics from the ground up. The series follows candidates and organizers across the country, asking whether US democracy can be preserved and made stronger by those most marginalized. Filmed in 2018-19, it centers on those at the heart of the movement behind the so-called New American Majority, including Stacey Abrams, Bushra Amiwala, Maria Elena Durazo, and several others. The discussion takes place at 7 pm on Thursday, July 30, while the episodes are currently airing on PBS and can be streamed for free until August 29 on the official series website, www.andshecouldbenext.com.
