The Montecito Union School [MUS] held a Cinco de Mayo-themed fundraiser at the lovely Chateau des Fontaines, the Montecito estate of Amanda Winn-Twining and husband Travis Twining, and Alastair and Ann Winn. The full-on affair shuttled guests from the school lot to the party for Cesar Lara’s live Mariachi band, cocktail hour, Gaby’s Catering freshly cooked-to-order main dishes including exotic mole salsa, five live auction items such as Katy Perry VIP tickets and Connor Coffin‘s award-winning surf board, 100 silent auction items, and dancing under the stars to the amazing French house music of DJ Fab.

The event chairs were MUS parents Cate Stoll, Lisa Jackson, and Alissa Briggs, who said: “It is our hope that tonight we can come together to recognize the amazing people who have given so much to our school and community. Due to the Thomas Fire and mudslides, Montecito Union School is facing an annual deficit of up to $1.6 million in the coming year. Without support, there is potential to lose important school programs in art, music, and technology updates. Our hope is that we will raise the funds to ensure our children continue to receive the highest level of education.”

VIPs at the soirée were Bucket Brigade leaders Abe Powell and Josiah Hamilton, chief deputy sheriff Sol Linver, Mr. and Mrs. Olivier Leclercq, Crystal and Cliff Wyatt, Karina Schweitzer, Gretchen Horn, Olga Murphy, MUS superintendent Anthony Ranii with wife Lindsay, MUS principal Nick Bruski and wife Amanda, and pastry chef Elizabeth Colling. A big shout-out to Caroline Harrah, VP of Montecito Union School’s PTA Board and MUS communications.

The evening concluded with the event raising more than $100K, a “Mustang Miracle”. MUS wishes to thank: the Twinings, the Winns, the parents and families of MUS students, the Colombo Family, DD Ford, the Ebbin Family, Eric and Kris Green, the Stoll Family, Karen and Charles Valle, Carol E. Pattillo Weingartner, M.D., Allen Construction, American Riviera Bank, Aspen Street, LLC, BioIQ, Bunnin Chevrolet Cadillac, Community West Bank, Don Briggs Law, Luke Ebbin & Associates, Litchfield Builders, Marburg Industries, Master Clean USA, McKean Construction, Montecito Grocers, Northstar Legal Advisors, Ruby & Rochor, Rusty’s Pizza, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Santa Barbara Stone Masters, and Sun Pop Life.
